Tight thermal and power budgets on these devices , strict latency limits and unreliable wireless connectivity (when multiple devices work together to realize a use-case) are some of the challenges to be overcome in the process . We are growing our team to push the boundaries of on-device AI, perception, rendering, streaming and display of immersive multimedia . Job Function/General Responsibilities Candidates bring in excellent analytical skills, critical thinking and familiarity with one or more of the following areas: audio, video, image processing and compression algorithms (traditional and machine learni ng based) , multimedia IP architecture , basics of machine learning , co-design of multimedia processing and AI stacks . P roficien cy in multimedia S/W design and interfacing with multimedia H/W modules on an SOC would be beneficial for the role . In this job the candidate would : Be part of a world-class XR team researching and developing mobile Augmented and Virtual Reality enabling technology Develop power-efficient and performant multimedia processing systems in conjunction with XR workloads related to perception and AI Prototype the resultant system designs on XR devices, profile power/performance /quality , present feasibility /influence future SOC and SW arch itecture Collaborate across functional boundaries in defining architecture, APIs, design and schedule See their design in action on industry-leading chips embedded in the next generation of AR and VR devices and adjacent markets Critical “Must Have” skills/experience for role Strong understanding of more than one of the following areas: audio, video, image processing and compression algorithms (traditional and machine learni ng based), multimedia IP architecture, basics of machine learning, co-design of multimedia processing and AI stacks Well versed in basics of signal processing , algorithm optimization Excellent familiarity with AI coding tools , as well as basic s/w skills: C, C++ , Python experience Excellent presentation and technical writing skills Bachelors or higher degree holders in CS or ECE are welcome to apply 5 + years of industry experience after Bachelors and 4 + years of industry experience after Masters is preferred Demonstrated independence in defining and performing tasks given a well defined problem Preferred skills/experience for role Experience in software development, incl. testing and debugging on XR devices, mobile platforms or other embedded systems Ability to mentor/ lead 1-2 engineers Education Text Required: Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Keywords AI glasses, Augmented reality, computer vision , multimedia, video compression, image processing, signal processing , ML for multimedia, power-efficient design Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
