We are looking for a highly motivated Senior System Software Engineer – Automotive Cybersecurity to join our Automotive Software team. In this role, you will help architect, implement, and evaluate cybersecurity solutions for next-generation automotive platforms. You will work closely with hardware, software, safety, security, and product teams to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155, and emerging cybersecurity regulations. This position offers the opportunity to influence security architecture across complex SoC platforms powering autonomous and intelligent vehicle systems. What you'll be doing: Design, develop, and review security solutions for Linux Kernel and embedded software running on NVIDIA automotive platforms Perform cybersecurity engineering activities for Linux Kernel in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434, and NVIDIA security development processes. Conduct Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) for Linux-Kernel automotive systems, identifying attack surfaces, assets, trust boundaries, risks, and mitigations Define and review cybersecurity requirements for Linux Kernel, device drivers, middleware, and user-space software components Analyze Linux Kernel subsystems from a security perspective, including memory management, process isolation, IPC, networking, device drivers, filesystems, and privilege management Review Linux Kernel features, configurations, and security mechanisms to strengthen platform resilience against cyber threats. Support security assessments, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing activities, and remediation planning. Develop automation and AI-assisted workflows to improve threat modelling, security reviews, compliance tracking, and security analysis What we need to see: B.Tech, M.Tech, MS in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field 5+ years of experience in Linux Kernel, embedded software, or systems software development Experience performing cybersecurity activities aligned with ISO/SAE 21434 Knowledge and experience of secure software development practices, threat modelling, risk assessment, and vulnerability analysis Familiarity with Linux security technologies such as SELinux, AppArmor, secure boot, TPM, TrustZone, process isolation, and system hardening techniques. Strong proficiency in C programming and Linux Kernel debugging Deep understanding of Linux Kernel architecture including drivers, networking, filesystems, memory management, process scheduling, and security subsystems. Experience with ARM-based SoCs and embedded Linux platforms. Strong understanding of operating systems, computer architecture, and embedded system design Understanding of automotive software development processes including ASPICE and ISO 26262 Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills Ways to stand out from the crowd: Hands-on experience with both Linux Kernel development and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity activities Experience performing TARA, threat modelling, attack surface analysis, and security architecture reviews for embedded systems Familiarity with automotive cybersecurity regulations including UNECE R155 and ISO/SAE 21434 Understanding of safety-security co-engineering, including HARA and TARA integration Experience with vulnerability research, CVE analysis, secure code reviews, and security testing as well as contributions to upstream Linux Kernel or open-source security projects
