Company: Qualcomm India Private Limited Job Area: Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Software Engineering General Summary: GStreamer Plugin Developer (Around 6+ Years Experience) Location: Qualcomm, Hyderabad, India We are looking for an experienced Multimedia Software Engineer with strong hands‑on expertise in the GStreamer multimedia framework . The ideal candidate will contribute to designing, developing, and optimizing multimedia components and applications. This role requires solid understanding of multimedia pipelines, video/audio processing, and strong programming fundamentals. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering experience OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 5+ year of Software Engineering experience Work Experience: 4+ years of academic or professional experience in Software Engineering Strong programming experience in C/C++ , preferably on embedded systems Hands‑on experience with GStreamer , including plugin development or pipeline integration Strong understanding of multimedia frameworks , codecs, and pipeline architecture Exposure to AI/ML-based multimedia applications is a plus Experience working on Linux platforms is a must Good understanding of multi-threaded programming , synchronization mechanisms, and IPC Familiarity with software development processes (Github, CI/CD, code reviews, documentation, etc.) Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills Exposure to other multimedia frameworks like FFmpeg, DirectShow, Stagefright Knowledge of V4L2 , PulseAudio , ALSA , OpenGLES Experience optimizing performance for embedded or resource-constrained systems Exposure on Android platform Role Overview Develop, integrate, and optimize GStreamer plugins and multimedia components Collaborate with cross-functional teams including platform, hardware, and ML teams Debug complex multimedia issues and contribute to performance enhancements Participate in design discussions and contribute to architecture improvements Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
