OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. • 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Role Overview We are looking for a developer to join our team working on video surveillance solutions deployed on edge devices. This is an AI Developer role focused on video surveillance AI pipelines. The role emphasizes model output optimization, debugging, and validation. The selected individual will work with object detection frameworks (e.g., YOLO) to ensure reliable, efficient, and accurate performance on Qualcomm’s hardware platforms. Responsibilities include analyzing discrepancies between expected vs. real outputs, implementing fixes, and defining KPIs to measure system robustness in real-world surveillance scenarios. Key Responsibilities Debug and validate AI model outputs for video surveillance use cases. Compare expected vs. real outputs, identify root causes of discrepancies, and implement fixes. Optimize preprocessing (frame extraction, normalization, augmentation) and postprocessing (bounding box refinement, tracking, etc.). Profile inference pipelines across Qualcomm DSPs, GPUs, and NPUs to improve latency, throughput, and energy efficiency. Define, monitor, and report KPIs such as detection accuracy, false positives/negatives, latency, and system stability. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate optimized pipelines into production systems. Maintain and improve debugging tools, logging frameworks, and automated test suites for video analytics. Support continuous improvement of video surveillance use cases Required Qualifications & Experience Overall 8+ years of experience, including 4+ years in AI use-case design, development, and testing. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electronics, or a related field. Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and CUDA/OpenCL. Hands-on experience with YOLO (v5/v7/v8) or similar o bject detection frameworks. Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX Runtime. Experience debugging AI pipelines and validating outputs against ground truth datasets. Knowledge of video analytics workflows and real-time inference optimization.
